From bulky looking hearing aids to the now invisible ones, the technology in hearing aids has improved significantly. There have been many advancements, modifications and inclusions in the existing technology to make hearing aids more compact, comfortable, perform better and stylish! One of the technological advancement is the digitalizing of sound wave into electrical signal. The major advantage of this is the electrical signals of the sound waves are easier to process and are much faster. The processing is so fast that it takes place within a fraction of a second! The output sound is more crisp, distortion free and clear. Hearing aids with this type of technology are able to judge the necessity of amplification of sound waves and this gives more comfort to the user. Moreover, the aid becomes smaller with the digital technology.

The digitally programmable hearing aids are much more comfortable than its predecessors in terms of sound adjustment. The major difference between the fully digital and the digitally programmable hearing aid is that fully digital hearing aids can not process all the incoming sound. The digitally programmable type of hearing aid comes with different in built profiles. These profiles are custom made as per the requirements of the user. The profiles match different environment types like normal conversation, telephone, office, concert hall, etc. The user can change these profiles as per the environment with the help of a button or a remote. Thus the digitally programmable hearing aids are preferred more than the fully digital hearing aids.

The frustrating problem of the feedback sound has annoyed many of the hearing aid users to a point that they have stopped using it! Usually in most of the hearing aids, the amplified sound escapes through the ear canal. This sound wave reaches the hearing aid where it is amplified and then sent back into the ear. This creates an echo of the sound wave giving the user goose bumps! To mitigate this problem and to give more comfort to the users the feedback reduction system was introduced. The feedback reduction system cancels out all the unwanted sound waves that bounce within the walls of the ear canal thereby reduce or eliminate feedback. Some of the advanced hearing aids have mechanisms to identify this type of sound wave and then completely eliminate them before they become audible thereby giving superior comfort to the user.

Phonak hearing aids are very reliable and affordable at competitive prices up and down the country.
